Frequently Asked Questions
When exploring body-based support, it is natural to have questions about the process, what to expect. Below you will find clear answers regarding my offerings, training, session formats, and practical arrangements. If you have a question not answered here, you are welcome to bring it to a free 15-minute consultation.
Frequently asked questions: General and Working Together
What is your approach to somatic work?
My approach is grounded, warm, specific, and non-shaming. Rather than trying to analyze your entire history or force a cathartic breakthrough, the work focuses on what happens in your body in real time. I help you notice automatic physical responses—such as bracing, shallow breathing, people-pleasing, or freezing—and practice staying connected to yourself so you have genuine choice in difficult moments.
What are the rates for sessions?
My standard rate is $150 per hour. A limited sliding scale is available for individuals experiencing financial need; please mention this during your initial consultation if cost is a barrier.
What happens during the free 15-minute consultation?
The consultation is a brief, informal conversation held over Zoom or phone. You can share the recurring pattern or situation you want support with, ask questions about my role, and discuss whether in-person Baltimore work or online sessions fit best. It is a focused space to assess mutual fit without any pressure to commit.
Are you a psychotherapist?
No. I am a certified Trauma Integration Protocol Foundations practitioner and trained psychedelic guide. I am not a licensed psychotherapist, clinical counselor, psychiatrist, or medical doctor. My services provide non-clinical somatic education, reflection, journey guidance, and integration. I do not diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions, and my work does not replace professional clinical care.
Can I work with you while seeing a licensed therapist?
Yes. Many clients choose non-clinical somatic support alongside ongoing psychotherapy. Because I focus on present-moment physiological activation rather than clinical treatment planning, the two modalities can complement each other well. You are encouraged to discuss coordination with your therapist.
Do I need to know which service I want before reaching out?
No. You do not need to know the right modality or terminology before scheduling. Simply describe the pattern, response, or experience you want help with, and I can help clarify which format is most appropriate.
Frequently asked questions: Trauma Integration Protocol (TIP)
Do I need to tell my full trauma story?
No. In Trauma Integration Protocol, you do not need to recount past painful memories in detail. The work starts with what you notice physically in the present moment—such as tension, breathing patterns, or impulses to withdraw. The story is more the background, sensations and connection in the foreground.
How intense will it be somatically?
There is no required response. While some people experience spontaneous neurogenic tremoring, deep sighs, temperature shifts, or muscle unwinding as stress discharges, others experience subtle settling, quiet awareness, or stillness. We may see soft orienting responses, such as a head moving towards one side or another. Often times an incomplete defensive response (that never completed during the time of a trauma) may come up and complete itself. We do not provoke shaking or use physical intensity as a measure of progress. Sometimes it’s the gentlest of movements that are the most profound.
How does TIP differ from traditional talk therapy?
Talk therapy primarily explores narrative, thoughts, insights, and emotional history through conversation. TIP focuses directly on the autonomic nervous system—tracking sensations, impulses, and defensive reactions as they arise physically. The goal is to help your nervous system complete incomplete protective responses so you can feel free of whatever your body was holding onto.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed schedule or mandatory program. Some clients find a few sessions sufficient to shift a specific pattern, while others appreciate ongoing biweekly or monthly support. This also depends on how many traumas you have experienced, the depth of the trauma and how linked the trauma is to other similar ones. You and I will regularly assess how the work is feeling and decide collaboratively on next steps.
Can TIP be done online?
Yes. Trauma Integration Protocol is available both online worldwide and in person in Baltimore, Maryland. Online sessions are conducted via zoom and are just as effective for tracking sensations, pacing, and present-moment awareness.
Frequently asked questions: Medicine-assisted somatic work
Can you help me obtain or prescribe ketamine or cannabis?
No. I do not prescribe, sell, supply, or administer ketamine. Clients independently obtain a prescription from a qualified physician, psychiatrist, or medical clinic.
In Maryland and many states, Cannabis can be bought from a dispensary. As a client, you will self administer and I can help guide you in finding the correct dosage. Cannabis is best taken by vaping/smoking, usually you will only need 1-2 inhales to get the desired outcome. We avoid edibles for a variety of reasons.
Do you decide my ketamine dosage or monitor vital signs?
No. All medical screening, prescription decisions, dosing, administration, and physiological monitoring are strictly the responsibility of your licensed medical provider. I provide non-clinical somatic preparation and integration.
Is this ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP)?
No. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy is conducted by licensed mental health professionals who provide clinical psychotherapy during or after dosing. I provide non-clinical preparation, reflective presence, and body-based integration to help you connect your experiences to everyday life.
Can I book integration if my ketamine experience has already happened?
Yes. Integration support does not require that you prepared with me. If you have completed a medical ketamine session and want a grounded space to unpack bodily sensations, insights, and behavioral shifts, you can book an integration session.
What is the difference between preparation and integration?
Preparation happens before your medical session to clarify flexible intentions, identify automatic bracing patterns, and establish personal support. Integration happens in the days following the session to translate your realizations into concrete boundaries, body awareness, and daily habits.
Frequently asked questions: Psychedelic Cannabis Journeys
Do you provide or sell cannabis?
No. I do not provide, sell, supply, transport, or prescribe cannabis. Clients lawfully source and possess their own cannabis through licensed dispensaries in jurisdictions where adult use is legal.
Is a guided cannabis journey considered therapy?
No. Guided psychedelic cannabis journeys with me are non-clinical, contemplative, and educational experiences. I am a trained psychedelic sitter and guide (Center for Medicinal Mindfulness, 2024), not a psychotherapist.
Do I need prior experience with cannabis or psychedelics?
No prior experience is necessary. During your preparation meeting, I will review your history, answer questions, discuss strain selection and conservative dosing, and ensure you feel comfortable and informed before moving forward.
Will I lose control during a journey?
Unlike high-dose experiences with classic psychedelics, intentional cannabis journeywork generally allows you to retain clear agency. You can speak, adjust your posture, open your eyes, or ask to pause at any time. Pacing is slow, collaborative, and entirely client-led. There are times where you might go deeper in with the medicine and may need assistance walking.
Can I book integration for a cannabis journey I took on my own?
Yes. If you conducted a self-directed or previously guided cannabis journey and find yourself needing help making sense of the emotional or bodily material that emerged, integration sessions are available.
Frequently asked questions: TIP Practitioner Mentorship
Is this official TIP supervision?
As a certified TIP practitioner, I can supervise your TIP cases and questions as well as help you work through some of your own processes. This supervision work would count towards the supervision hours required to become certified in TIP.
Who is eligible for practitioner mentorship?
Mentorship is designed specifically for practitioners who have already completed TIP foundational training and are actively applying the protocol. It is not an introductory course for beginners.
Can we discuss client sessions during mentorship?
Yes, within ethical and confidentiality boundaries. Conversations focus on practitioner presence, pacing, holding scope, and recognizing your own nervous system responses rather than clinical case management. Clients’ identifying details should not be disclosed.
You may also decide to work through some of your own personal work under supervision. As I guide you through your process I will do a lot more explaining about interventions etc. so that you gain the knowledge, not just the integration.
