Medicine-assisted somatic work
Sometimes, even when we understand a pattern and are ready to work with it, our defenses can make it difficult to access what is held in the body.
Medicine-assisted somatic work can help deepen the process. Using low, psycholytic doses of ketamine or cannabis may soften defenses, increase access to somatic responses, and allow more movement and release.
This is targeted work, built on an established working relationship and a foundation of TIP sessions. We first establish the work together through TIP, typically over a couple of sessions, before considering whether medicine-assisted work may be appropriate.
Deepening the Somatic Process
The work is intentional and specific. We identify what we’re working with and use the established TIP process to follow what happens in the body.
The medicine may increase the intensity of the somatic experience, making it possible to access responses or release that have been harder to reach. My role is to stay attuned to the process, support what’s unfolding, and work within your capacity rather than push beyond it.
Preparation and Integration
Before a medicine-assisted session
We clarify the focus and prepare for the work ahead.
Afterward
We integrate what happened and explore how it relates to the patterns, responses, and changes you’re working toward.
Clear Professional Boundaries
Ketamine must be prescribed and managed by your own provider. I do not prescribe or supply ketamine, determine eligibility or dosage, or provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy.
Medicine-assisted somatic work is offered within the scope of my practice and only after we have established a working relationship through TIP.
